Loving, In-home Pet Care for your "Furry Children"
About Us
The Furry Godmother Pet Sitting was created out of my own necessity to provide an alternative to boarding my “furry children”.
After leaving the corporate world (I retired from Verizon after 33+ years of service) and some time sorting my passions, I decided to start my own business and the Furry Godmother was created in May of 2004.
My lifelong passion for anything furry, feathered, scaled or shelled has never died.
As a young girl, I was the one that found the bird that fell out of the nest and nurtured it back to life, took in abandoned kittens and fed them with a bottle and rescued stranded turtles in the middle of the road.
This passion is still a big part of who I am.
I have volunteered through the past years with several organizations that have fueled this passion. While working in St. Petersburg I spent time with my Verizon co-workers volunteering for the St Petersburg ASPCA. I also volunteered for several years for Animial Outreach of Brandon where I learned to rescue feral cats, socialize the kitten population to get them ready for adoption and create a manageable colony for the adults that would be taken care of daily by myself or another volunteer.

After getting licensed to become a pet sitter, I wanted to do as much as I could to become a better sitter.
I joined NAPPS (National Association of Professional Pet Sitters), became bonded and insured, then after attending a pet sitters conference in Orlando became certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.
I also took a needles workshop to learn how to properly give shots to my “furry children” that I care for.
Although being a qualified sitter that is knowledgeable in caring for your pets is extremely important, the love and care that I provide them and the bond that I develop with my “furry godchildren” is my most valued quality.

Today I run The Furry Godmother Pet Sitting with the help of my husband Sladen.
We both provide your pets with the same love and care that we provide our own babies. Our furry children include, a 12 year old black Chow (Mollie), a 13 year old Westie Terrier (Angus), a 4 year old Golden/Chow Mix (Toby) and a 5 year old Chow/Husky Mix (Riley).
We also have two feline babies, Boots and Valentine who are both black & white rescued cats that I couldn’t say no to when I was doing my volunteer work. We also have several gecko’s and frogs, 3 snakes and 2 turtles.
The turtles live outside in their walled community we built for them.
I would like to thank all my clients who have entrusted their “furry children” to my care. You have helped me to make my dream come true.

Testimonials:
"We have been so fortunate to find our Furry God Mother. We have 4 dogs and would not travel as much because we did not want to leave them in a kennel. Now we are able to go to Disney, on extended trips and while away we can relax, because we know that our animals are in great hands. One of our older dogs was diagnosed with diabetes. We knew that he would be taken care of because of the training Diana has already taken and we were right. As a veterinarian I feel very comfortable leaving all of our animals in the capable hands of our Furry God Mother."

"At first we were hesitant to leave our 'furbabies' alone while on vacation, but Diana quickly put us at ease. Our pugs adjusted beautifully and seem reassured of their safety when they see her familiar smiling face. Diana is trustworthy and dependable. A real asset to our family."
